2026 U9 Hawks Cup Spring Tournament

Key Details:

Each team will receive 6 full ice games and 1 practice time
Every ice time will be at the Centennial Arena
This is a 2-line tournament to provide each skater with plenty of ice time
All ice times take place in April

Teams:

We have 4 teams: Canadians, Leafs, Flames, and Oilers
Skaters have been equally divided based on last season's groups
Each team has 10 skaters and 1 goalie

Games:

There will be 4 round robin games
Each team will compete in 1 semi-final game
Then a consolation game and finals game

Game flow and rules:

There will be 2 refs and a timekeeper provided for each game
3 min warm up
2 x 22min periods straight time
Icing and offsides are in effect
Penalties will be called but team will not play short-handed. Penalized skater will be sent to their bench where the coach can review why a penalty was called. Next skater in line will head out to finish the shift.
Score will be kept
If the score is separated by more than 5 goals, score will be paused until back within 5 goals
Line changes: There will be a 2min buzzer to single the line change. This is too keep our lines balanced and maintain equal skill playing against equal skill.
